Desert Sunset

After painting the Desert Series paintings with the crisp geometric shapes, I wanted to push a similar scene even more toward abstraction. Simplified with brushstroke textures that hints at a mountainscape, a sun setting and the foreground of the painting. I chose tones of mustard, mauve and periwinkle blue to bring out the beauty of the desert.

This painting has been deeply discounted to fit into a gifting budget for the holidays.
